Two Suspects Arrested in Marion County Mail Thefts

According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, deputies have arrested two (2) suspects on charges related to several mail thefts in Marion County.

Sheriff Alexander reports that deputies responded to an area on Broadway Street in Yellville on the morning of February 8, 2023, after a citizen reported seeing two (2) people taking items from mailboxes on the street. Deputies responded to the area but were unable to locate any suspects or suspicious vehicles when they arrived on the scene. Deputies continued to search for the suspects and a vehicle and subsequently located and stopped a vehicle occupied by two (2) suspects on 15th Street.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Whitney Townsend, 31 years old from Mountain Home and the passenger was identified as Tyler Dudley, 28 years old from Flippin. A witness to the incident arrived on scene and was able to identify both Townsend and Dudley as the persons who were seen reaching into mailboxes in the neighborhood.

Both suspects were transported from the scene to the Marion County Sheriff's Department and subsequently booked into the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond awaiting their first court appearance. Both are charged with three (3) counts of Theft (Class "D" Felony), fourteen (14) counts of Breaking or Entering (Class "D" Felony), and fourteen (14) counts of Theft of Property (Class "A" Misdemeanor). The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are anticipated.

Sheriff Alexander expressed his appreciation to the witnesses and thanked them for coming forward with information that led to the arrests of both suspects. He stressed the importance of citizens and law enforcement working together in order to help keep their homes and neighborhoods safe.
