Juveline in Possession of Firearm


The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating an incident involving a student being in possession of a firearm on the Yellville-Summit High School campus. Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander advised deputies responded to the campus after a firearm was recovered by the School Resource Officer assigned to Yellville-Summit campus. Sheriff Alexander reported the incident is currently under investigation and his deputies are working with both Juvenile Services and the Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Sheriff Alexander advised that a juvenile male was taken into custody without incident and transferred to the custody of Juvenile Services.
