On 12/22/23, at approximately 8:00P, a Marion County Deputy took a missing person report from a complainant living in the Valley Springs community adjacent to Marion County 5026 (Shawnee Cave Road). At approximately 11:00P, Deputies responded to the same residence in the Valley Springs community after the caller stated she located her daughter, who she had previously reported as missing, unresponsive in a bedroom at the residence. Investigators from the Marion County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police responded to the residence and found an adult female, deceased at the scene. Investigators processed the scene, conducted interviews, and contacted the Marion County Coroner's Office, who responded to the scene and took custody of the body. The Coroner will transfer the body to the Medical Examiner's Section of the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

The investigation is on-going, and the identity of the female will be withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
