HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
As an update to the 12/25/23 homicide investigation, a suspect has been arrested, STEPHEN R. FITZPATRICK (white/male, DOB: 06/19/1956) with an Everton address. FITZPATRICK is charged with First Degree Murder with a $150,000 cash bond. The victim has been identified as LUCAS CODY JEWELL (white/male, DOB: 01/10/1980) with a Yellville address. FITZPATRICK is JEWELL'S uncle.

On 12/25/23, at approximately 11:22P, Marion County deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence located off Marion County (MC) Road 5013. On arrival, deputies located an adult white male on the floor of a workshop, deceased, with what appeared to be a stab wound. Investigators from the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police are conducting interviews and processing the scene. The white male victim was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner and the body will be transferred to the Medical Examiner's Section of the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for an autopsy. A suspect has been taken into custody. The identity of the suspect, victim, and the charges filed will be provided in an upcoming release.
