Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander is warning county residents the Sheriff's Office has received citizen complaints of receiving a call from a person identifying themselves as a Marion County Deputy, and telling the resident they missed jury duty, and a warrant will be issued if an undisclosed fine isn't paid. Sheriff Alexander wants everyone to know that a Marion County Deputy will not call a resident about anything related to missing jury duty or being assessed a fine for missing jury duty. The Sheriff asked anyone receiving one of these calls to be sure to not disclose any personal information, hang up, and notify the MCSO to report the call.
