Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports at least two (2) storm related fatalities in Marion County from the severe weather that tracked through the county in the early morning hours on Sunday. Details related to the identity of the fatalities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Deputies have responded to an additional death, but they do not believe it is storm related. The Sheriff reports power is out for most of the county and the utility companies are working to restore power as soon as possible. He reported the storm appeared to track from the Bruno-Pyatt community in a northeasterly direction across the county.

Sheriff Alexander reports they are working with area first responders to check houses damaged in the storm. He advises all the main county roads and state highways are open to traffic. He is asking only local traffic be on the public roads at this time for first responders to be able to respond as needed. More information will be provided as it becomes available.
