Fatal Fire Investigation

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports that on 08/01/26 at approximately 8:28A, the Marion County Emergency 911 (E911) Center received a call of a structure fire on Marion County (MC) road 6068, in the Rea Valley area. When personnel from the Flippin and Rea Valley Volunteer Fire Departments arrived, the structure was fully engulfed. After the fire was extinguished, Fire Department personnel located a body inside the residence.
The body of the victim was transferred to the Marion County Coroner's Office and will be transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
Investigators processed the scene and conducted interviews. Investigation is on-going. Updates will be furnished as more information becomes available.
Assisting at the scene were the Rea Valley Volunteer Fire Department (RVVFD), Flippin Fire Department (FFD), Yellville Fire Department (YFD), Summit Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD), and the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department (FVFD).
